Spirit guides

Spirit Guides/Angels

My personal belief a spirit guide or angel as they are sometimes known as, is a Spirit of someone who watches over us, helping and  guiding us through our lives.  I believe we have more than one guide and that they change at different stages in our lives.

When I was about 18, I made an appointment to see a medium.

I arrived at her home for the appointment and was taken upstairs to a small bedroom.  It had a nice warm feeling to the room.  There were lots of sketches of people on the wall and two chairs opposite each other.  I was asked to sit down and make myself comfortable. She sat opposite me and I waited for the reading.  After a few minutes I began to 'see' a nun kneeling at my feet, with her hand upon my lap.  I couldn't actually see her in a solid form.  It was like a picture in my mind but somehow knowing where she was in the room.  I didn't say anything to the medium as I had just thought it was the 'atmosphere' of the room.

Just at that moment the medium said  "You don't really need me you know.  You can already see your guide" I said I couldn't, so she carried on describing who I could 'see', before continuing with my reading.

I couldn't remember much after the session as I had been so taken a back by her description.  I had seen what I now know to be spirit but had never had confirmation like that.

This was my first experience of a spirit guide. I didn't really understand why a nun  would chose me as I don't think we would share the same beliefs, but perhaps as she was spirit the religious side would not be the same as on earth.

I felt her presence from time to time and would sometimes meditate to see if I could communicate with her.  Meditation is easy and can be very uplifting.

After my father passed over, I attended a meeting in Essex where I saw psychic artist Ivor James.  I didn't get picked from the audience but was very interested in his drawings so arranged for him to come to my home.

I was really excited on his arrival.  There were about twelve of us all waiting to see if  he could make contact with spirit for us.

He began to draw for each member as he gave messages.  When it got to my turn I sat concentrating on my dad in the hopes he would make contact. Ivor began to draw.  Slowly I could see that he was drawing my spirit nun.  I was so disappointed.  I made some remark about why she had wanted to be drawn, although I can't remember exactly what I said.  Ivor immediately stopped drawing, looked at me and said "You've already seen this lady, this is confirmation"

He was really annoyed with me.  However, I guess this was probably what I needed at that time, after all my dad had already given me signs he was ok.  That happened a few days after my dad’s funeral,.

A friend and I were travelling to visit my cousin.  It was a Friday night, our spirit night as we called it.  As we draw up outside her house.  I suddenly  felt my dad's presence,  whilst at the same time the car seemed to become engulfed with the smell of flowers.  "Have you got some flowers in here?" my friend asked.  Without thinking my reply was "Oh it's only my dad".

The car door swung open and Sharon was out of the car before it had stopped.  My cousin opened the door to us and said "Hello Jackie, Hello Sharon, oh hello Uncle Jack.  Sharon asked why she had just said that and Lynn replied I don't know for a split second I thought he came in behind you.  So I guess my dad had already made contact.

I still have the sketch of my nun.  I later found  her to be called Sister Maria, who lived in Ireland while on earth.   She sits in my bedroom watching over me, although I do not feel her in my life very much. now.

I believe as many other people do that Spirit Guides change during your life time.  They come to help and teach  with various lessons in life.  Apart from my nun I have had various guides, at this time I have a Native American .  I'm afraid I tried to ignore him quite a few times at first, as I feel too many people claim to have American Indian's.  But anyway he is here.  His name is something like Bishma or Bishkmo.  I can't quite make it out.   He has been with me  for about 9 months now, which maybe why I suddenly decided I needed to join a drumming circle and buy a Native American Flute last year.  I am still trying to find out more about him and the life he lived when on earth.

These experiences lead me on the path I am on today.  I have sat in development circles on and off for over 20 years, and continue to learn and grow every day.

I now run my own development circles in Kent and try to help people discover their own psychic abilities.
